About me

I'm a warm and approachable, accredited psychotherapist offering therapy in person and online via Skype or Doxy.me.  I specialise in working with low mood, anxiety, stress and destructive behaviour patterns including addiction.

Experience

I have over twelve years’ experience of therapeutic work gained in private practice, voluntary counselling work, substance misuse and mental health services. Since 2015 I have also worked as a specialist mentor, providing mentoring support for students with mental health problems. I have a regular meditation and mindfulness practice and incorporate mindfulness in my work with clients where it can be helpful.

Qualifications

I have a first degree in Philosophy (BA Hons) and a Masters Degree in Existential Counselling & Psychotherapy from The New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling in Waterloo, London.

Accreditation

I am an accredited member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

Continuing professional development

I undertake a minimum of 50 hours Continuing Professional Development per year. I have completed numerous training courses, for example;

- The Therapeutics of Mindfulness based Stress Reduction

- Introduction to Compassion Focused Therapy

- Brief Therapy Certificate

- Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR)

- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

I continue to develop my practice and understanding of mindfulness techniques. I am also working to deepen my understanding of compassion focused meditation and practices and incorporate this into my work with clients.
